How many photos can I upload per bike?

You can upload up to 3 photos per bike. Alongside photos you can also upload your purchase invoice.

Can I register multiple batteries for my e-bike?

Yes, up to 3 batteries per e-bike. For each battery you record the serial number and brand, so loose battery thefts are also traceable.

Will I get a notification if a stolen bike is in my area?

No, that is intentionally not a feature. We do not send push notifications or neighbourhood alerts. The system is reactive: as soon as someone scans a bike, the owner gets an email with the message and (if shared) the scanner’s location.

What does someone see exactly when they scan my bike?

For a bike not marked stolen: a green confirmation that the bike is known, no personal data. For a stolen bike: a red banner stating that the bike is registered as stolen, and the option to send a message and location to the owner. Your name, address and phone number are never visible.

How do I earn community points and what do they unlock?

You earn points with every useful action: activating a SafeTag, scanning a frame number, sharing your location on a scan, logging maintenance, and extra points if you help recover a stolen bike via a scan. With points you earn badges, bonus SafeTags via challenges, and access to rewards we will launch in the future.

Can I transfer my bike to a new owner?

Yes. You send a transfer link (valid for 24 hours) to the buyer. The buyer logs in or registers, and accepts. Ownership and the full maintenance history transfer in one click.

How much does it cost?

Bike registration and the proof of ownership are permanently free. You only pay for physical SafeTags if you want them - those make your bike visibly registered and lower the chance of theft.

Is it available abroad?

Yes. The BIKEBAZE register works internationally - the platform, scan flow and proof of ownership all work in any country where the bike is found.

Can I add my proof of ownership to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

Yes. From your account you add a pass per bike to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, with frame number, brand, model and the current theft status. If you report your bike as stolen, the pass updates automatically and you get a notification on your lock screen. The QR code on the pass opens the public scan check.

Which theft registers does BIKEBAZE check on a scan?

Alongside the BIKEBAZE bike register itself, every scan automatically checks Stop Heling, the official register of goods reported stolen to the Dutch police, and Bike Index, a large international register.

What happens when I recover my bike?

You report in your account that your bike or battery is back: what came back, where and when, and how you recovered it. The status flips straight to not stolen, so the next scan shows your bike on green and your Wallet pass updates automatically. You can download your recovery report as a PDF and you get a ready-made message to share the good news.

Can I report a suspicious situation anonymously?

Yes. Through the report form on our site you can report a suspicious situation completely anonymously, without an account. You describe what you saw, where and when, plus the colour and type of bike. The report reaches our prevention team and helps us spot patterns. Leaving an email address is optional: only then do we contact you.

No. BIKEBAZE is a free web app - you use it in your browser, on desktop and mobile. You can add it to your home screen as a shortcut (PWA), but no App Store or Play Store is required.

A PDF document in your name, generated as soon as you register your bike. Alongside your frame number, brand, model and registration date, it also shows the history of theft reports, linked SafeTags, maintenance history and any other info you have provided about the bike. It is an additional proof of ownership and a handy overview to have everything about your bike in one place. Useful for insurance, police reports and when you sell your bike.
