Frequently asked questions
Where am I covered with a Unigarant bike insurance policy?+
Your bike is insured worldwide against theft and damage. The supplementary legal recourse assistance applies in geographic Europe. Roadside assistance is only valid in the Netherlands.
Which lock must I use according to the Unigarant policy terms?+
You must use an ART-approved lock of at least category 2 stars. When taking out the policy, you provide the brand and key number to Unigarant.
What is my deductible with Unigarant?+
For a regular bike or e-bike there is no deductible for total loss or theft, and €25 for damage. For a road bike or ATB the deductible is 20% of the insured amount for total loss, 10% for theft and €50 for damage.
Do I receive a replacement bike in case of theft?+
Yes, if you took out the policy through a bike dealer, you receive an in-kind compensation during the first 3 years: an equivalent bike from the same dealer.
What do I need to send to Unigarant in case of theft?+
A copy of the police report, clear photos of the original bike keys (keep the original keys for at least 3 months) and the purchase receipt.
