Frequently asked questions
Does Qover sell bike insurance directly to consumers?+
Qover mainly operates through a B2B2C model: it provides the policy, but it is often distributed through partners such as bike manufacturers and dealers (for example Cowboy in Belgium). Direct purchase is possible via bike.qover.com.
Where am I covered with a Qover bike insurance policy?+
Theft and damage cover applies in all EU countries plus the United Kingdom, Andorra, Monaco, Vatican City, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What deductible does Qover apply?+
For material damage to your bike, a deductible of €35 per claim applies. In case of total loss or theft, the payout amount is determined by a depreciation schedule rather than a fixed deductible.
Which lock is required for Qover coverage?+
Qover accepts locks of type ART category 2 or higher, ABUS (security level 10+), FUB category 2+, Sold Secure Silver/Gold, OnGuard or SRA. The lock must secure your bike to a fixed anchor point.
How is my bike valued in case of theft?+
During the first 3 years, 100% of the insured value is paid out; in year 4 this drops to 75% and in year 5 to 50%. The policy ends automatically after 5 years or 4 renewals.
