Frequently asked questions
Does depreciation apply to your bike with Kingpolis?+
No. With Kingpolis there is no depreciation on your bike for five years. Second-hand bikes are reimbursed at the current market value immediately before the event.
What is the deductible?+
For casco damage to a regular bike, the deductible is €25. For e-bike policies (after 1 July 2024), the deductible is €50 for casco damage and 5% of the claim amount for theft (10% in postcodes with an elevated theft risk).
Which lock should you use?+
Your bike must be locked with at least an ART 2 certification. For e-bikes and more expensive bikes, a second lock is required, also with ART 2 or comparable (AXA security index 7+, ABUS level 5+ or Trelock level 3+).
Is your battery included?+
Yes. Your battery is insured against theft and casco damage; in addition, the manufacturer's warranty applies upon purchase.
How do you report theft of your bike?+
File a police report within 5 days via politie.nl and then report the theft online with Kingpolis via the theft-claim form on kingpolis.nl. For e-bikes from €4,500 with track-and-trace, you must activate the provider immediately.
