Frequently asked questions
Which lock do you need for the Allianz Continuous Bike Insurance?+
Allianz only reimburses theft damage if your bike was secured with an ART-certified lock of at least 2 stars. From an insured value of € 1,000, two ART locks with at least 2 stars are required.
How is the claim payout calculated by Allianz?+
In the event of total loss within 3 years, you receive the full insured value. After that, a depreciation schedule applies (75% in year 4, 60% in year 5, 45% in year 6, 35% in year 7, 25% in year 8). After that, Allianz reimburses up to the current market value.
Is the battery of your e-bike covered?+
Damage to the battery is covered if it results from an accident or if the bike has fallen. Damage that only affects the exterior of a properly functioning battery is not covered.
Does your Allianz Bike Insurance also apply abroad?+
For theft, you are insured worldwide. Roadside assistance applies in the Netherlands and the border area with Belgium and Germany; legal assistance is limited to Europe.
What should you do after a bike theft with Allianz?+
File a police report immediately and keep the original keys: without a report or without being able to provide the original keys, no payout will be made. Then file the claim through the online claims portal.
