## Frequently asked questions

### How important is it to update my bike status?

Updating the status to 'Recovered' in time prevents unnecessary worry and contact attempts from well-meaning Society members scanning your SafeTag. If your bike is still flagged as stolen, people may think they found a stolen bike and try to contact you. Updating keeps the BikeVault accurate.

### What should I do after recovering my bike?

Besides filling in this form, we recommend documenting any damage and, where applicable, informing your insurance company. If you filed a police report, also inform them of the recovery.
